Curiosity Lab
Theory-People-Robots
We are studying all aspects of curiosity, including computational models; psychological and neurological implications in people and implementation in robots. The great stuff happens in between: how models inform about children's curiosity developement; how curious robots can promote curiosity, and more..
About
Theory
We are formalizing curiosity; taking psychological concepts and turning them into a methematical and computational framework. Inspired by the brain, we are improving these frameworks to be fast, modular, hierarchical and neurobiologically-plausible.
People
We are developing quantitative model-based assessment tools for people's curiosity. Implementing the curiosity computational framework, we are attempting to quantitatively assess and promote individual variations in curiosity, as well as development with age, education and other environmental aspects.
Robots
We are using several robotic platforms to study form-function dependencies, human-robot interaction and emerged social cognition. We work with industrial-grade platforms and implement in all of them the same curiosity framework.
